“I believe the human brain knows and perceives more than we ourselves realize. For instance, what for me constitutes the end of the film, is the scene in which Chihiro takes the train all by herself. That’s where the film ends for me. I remember the first time I took the train alone and what my feelings were at the time. Most people who can remember the first time they took the train all by themselves, remember absolutely nothing of the landscapes outside the train because they are so focused on the ride itself.” (Hayao Miyazaki)
This scene makes me cry every time.
When I and my two oldest best friends were in fourth grade, one of them shared the manga series “Magic Knights Rayearth” with us. After reading the first book, we each got assigned a character to be when we made our own adventures during recess. I was Fuu, our charismatic friend was Umi, and our small, spunky friend was Hikaru. At the time, it was just fourth graders being fourth graders; not really putting much stock in why we were each character. Now, part of what defines us is which MKR character we are. I am Fuu, our charismatic friend is Umi, and our spunky friend is Hikaru. It happened on accident. But the next thing we knew, we were exactly like them, more or less. I mean, Spunky’s birthday is the same as Hikaru’s! We owe CLAMP for making characters that three lost fourth graders could latch on to and feel like we belonged.
So I got tired of having half-baked Magic Knight Rayearth Tumblrs and decided it was time to take things into my own hands.
I have a ton of MKR resources from years of being a fan. I know I have a couple fans on my regular blog, too so—!
I figure I should offer this to you: fyeahrayearth.
Like I said, I have a ton of resources from years of being a fan l-lol but if you have something you think I might not have, feel free to submit stuff!
That’s all ♥
