I am really getting tired of seeing all this bruhaha about “oh I’m always the bad guy because I’m white/straight/cis [tears]”. How self centered are you? 

When a PoC says they hate white people, they most likely don’t mean YOU, hell, they probably don’t even KNOW YOU.

-They hate whiteness as the institution that says repeatedly that anytime you get a PoC as a star or hero it’s pandering. 

-They hate that they see characters of color whitewashed under the guise of “improvements”. 

-They hate being told every fuck day that they are not as [whatever] as a white person. 

-They hate having to wonder if you’re only their friend for “Cred”

-They hate that people change they way that they speak or interact around them

-They hate white people talking over them ABOUT THEIR OWN EXPERIENCES 

When I say I hate straight people, I do not mean YOU. I do not even KNOW YOU.

-I hate that I’m immediately called “not a woman”

-I hate my personality being eroded to “a dude with boobs”

-I hate the assumption that I want to bed every other female presenting person in my immediate area

-I hate the assumption that I cannot be in a commited relationship 

-I hate the assumption that a man abused me so that’s why I “hate men”

-I hate straight people talking over me ABOUT MY OWN EXPERIENCES

When a trans* person says that they hate Cis People they probably do not mean YOU. They probably don’t even KNOW YOU.

-They hate that everyone assumes that gender is “obvious”

-They hate that people degrade what they are to their parts

-They hate that they are labelled as “sick” or “confused”

-They hate that if they are a queer trans* person people say shit like “Why’d you change at all if you like [x]”

-They hate cis people talking over them ABOUT THEIR OWN EXPERIENCES 

If you really think that YOU are the only reason that minorities are upset in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD then you need to get your head out of your ass. YOUR OPINION DOES NOT MEAN MORE THAN THE OPINION OF THE PERSON WHO LIVES THAT LIFE. This is bigger than you, and if people don’t take it head on it will never go away. This isn’t about “never fucking up” or “getting jumped on for making a mistake”, either. Because YOU WILL MAKE MISTAKES. 

As a white person, I WILL make a racist comment. As a Cis person I WILL make a transphobic comment. Not because I’m a bad person, but because I’m privileged by being white and cis gendered. WHEN I make these mistakes, I WANT to be called on them so I don’t do them again. It’s not ANYONE’S JOB to call me out nicely, however. I’m not a perfect person, no one is. 

In short, this isn’t about you, or against you, it’s against a whole system. And I wish I could blow up at work some days, but it just isn’t professional so I have Tumblr.
